Engine runs on the test stand and the insulating of the exhaust system
This post should not be too long to read.
With all the cleaning of the engine and modifications done to get the engine ready for its 1st real test at running. The test stand was connected up as if the engine was in the bus even down to having gages for temperature and oil pressure and also a test of my new air throttle. It took a long time to get to this point, lots of ups and downs and now the real deal to hear this engine after about 13 years is exciting. View the video of the test run.
You can see that I also planned on insulating my entire exhaust system from the manifold to the tailpipe. My hope is that The engine noise will be reduced, the heat in the engine compartment will be reduced and this should better protect the engine from getting too hot.
I had two skinner valves but chose to connect only one of them as the 2nd one is used for fast idle which I do not need as I do not have the use of factory air conditioning in my bus and this higher engine speed when stopped is not needed as my bus is not set up.
Enjoy the short post.
