Sometimes there are newer problems on one side of the bus than on the other. In this case the right side of the bus has a lot of major frame damage needing replacing after clean up and inspection is done. There may be duplicate photos in this post already seen before. Here again you will see the right fuel tank removal and also the removal of the outer fluted skins of the drive and bogie wheel wells. In these views following you will also see the double framing I do throughout the entire bus for my personal choice of integrity. You will clearly see new 1 ½” square tubing rolled to the diameter of the inner wheel well.
The right fuel tank was installed just for fitting of all connections before finish framing in this area is completed. The fuel tank is again removed for paint etc. preparing for the reassembly. Reassembly of the right torsilastic tube and arm to the bus frame is possible, when working alone, with an engine hoist. Doing this alone is only possible with this hoist and no way can be done even with two people because of the weight. Looking closely at the enclosed fuel tank you will also see how I enclosed the bottom of the fuel tank compartment to prevent all road debris etc. from ever getting on the fuel tank again. When all is assembled in the right bogie wheel well area where I installed aluminum access covers make getting into certain areas of wiring, plumbing etc. possible in the future if needed.
Getting near the end of this wheel well area you will see the application of smooth siding on the right side of the bus in the drive and bogie wheel areas. Installation of the wheel well rims is done and the entire assembly is painted dark gray and this bay is nearly completed for road use. Now for photos, enjoy.
