I have to say yesterday was a bad day for me as I spent most of the morning hunting down a replacement (reverse solenoid on the transmission) to replace mine that is frozen up from sitting etc but rusted, (of coarse) from the inside out. Mine is sealed when you try to take off the one end you can and find the inside unit is completely sealed and you see only wiring you can is breaking down from who know what!
I called just about every vendor I could for our Eagle parts, and got the most discouraging information so far. To replace my seized up reverse solenoid which is pictured with this post will cost $690, brand new and made in the US! Oh Crap, that is nearly the straw that breaks the camels back. WTH, I know, I know, the economy etc. BS, BS!
Well there is light at the end of the tunnel for forgetting to assembly my clutch onto my transmission. The frozen up solenoid mentioned above cannot be removed from the transmission without removing the transmission or if you can and do you will fight like never before and in this heat is horrible. So you see, there is a reason sometimes things happen, in fact that is the rule for lots of things. Well anyhow I am now DEAD in the water with this cost. I know I may have to use a used one BUT, how long will that one last and how good is it?? What a decision to make, I had the most horrible day yesterday. Just take a look at the photo of this part I am talking about, let this be a warning what is ahead for parts. This bus is becoming worse in cost than an (“X” wife) and that is no kidding. I hope you guys have a good day today.
